Contestants must be between the ages of 3-18 on September 1, 2021.
September 1st is the date that will determine the age division that the contestant will compete in at both the state and national pageant. She will compete in the same division for both state and if she qualifies for nationals.
By participating in the state pageant, you acknowledge, accept and agree to abide by all rules posted on our website and in the handbook. You also agree to all state title holder requirements.
+ 1st and 2nd Alternates
Miss North Carolina and Miss South Carolina will win their official State Crown and State Sash to Nationals 2021. They will also receive their entry fees paid to nationals. ($285 value)
Miss North Carolina and Miss South Carolina Titles will come from Formal Wear/Introduction, Fun Fashion, and Interview scores. If there is no qualifying contestant in one of these states, we will award that title to the next highest scoring contestant behind their state queen. Both titles will be awarded.
Interview: 1/3 of final score
Interview will take place via Zoom on March 21, 2021.Once you are registered, you will receive the state handbook and a link to access the Zoom meeting.
Each contestant will have a scheduled interview time. They will sit in a panel-style interview in front of all judges for 3 minutes during the Zoom meeting. The director will welcome the contestant to the meeting. Once everyone is logged in and ready, the director will instruct the contestant to begin and give her opening statement: Name, Age and where she is from. (EX: Good morning judges, I am Zori Hewell and I am 14 yrs old from North Georgia.) Interview questions will come from the contestant’s bio. Judges will not ask current event or political questions. Judges want to get to know the young lady and see their personality.Contestants are required to wear an interview dress, suit or jumpsuit. Choose something that reflects your personality.
Formal Wear: 1/3 of final score
Formal Wear must be recorded and emailed to Melinda Bell, Director: email@example.comRecordings are due by March 18th - Day before Interview. Contestants must wear a floor length pageant dress that is age appropriate. Any color is acceptable. No mid-drift, two piece dresses. Judges will judge on overall first impression, appearance (hair and make-up is not judged), stage presence and personality. Judges will not judge the space where you record your walk. Since this is a virtual pageant, hair and make-up will not be judged. The contestant should have hair out of face so that judges can see her. Walks must be under 75 seconds.
Introduction: 1/3 of the formal wear score
Contestants will have a short introduction during their formal walks. They will enter the stage/room and present the intro at the first X which is located in the back. Use a microphone, hair brush, marker, etc. Once finished, hand the mic to someone or lay it down. (This helps practice for National in the fall.) Introductions must include but not limited to the following: Name, age and where they are from. Ex: Good morning ladies and gentlemen, Anna Loren Mazarky. I am 12 years old and representing Georgia. (You can make this your own.) Introductions must stay under 15 seconds and is timed separate from formal wear allotted time of 75 seconds.
Fun Fashion: 1/3 of final score
For this category contestants will wear fun fashion style outfits. Cocktail dresses, high-low, etc. Judges will judge on overall first impression, appearance, stage presence and personality. No mid-drifts and no swimsuits. Can be any style or color. Wear something that fits your personality. Contestants will be allowed 75 seconds in this event.
We do not judge on facial beauty. We believe every contestant is beautiful, and we want to see the girls just have fun. Even though we tell our judges what our pageant system judges on, judges all have opinions, and you are being judged on their opinion. Your score will be a combination of their opinions. There will be out-of-town judges. Judges’ scores will be emailed after the pageant.

Interview via Zoom: Sunday, March 21, 2021
Each contestant will have a scheduled interview time given to them prior to the Zoom meeting.
3-6 yrs. Interview Begins 1:00 p.m.
7-12 yrs Interview Begins 2:00 p.m.
13-18 yrs Interview Begins 3:00 p.m.

Contestants will need to complete the registration form, send payment and email a natural headshot.
